It Begins & Ends In Flames
Maya is so close to finishing her fantasy novel, she’s practically living in it. Maya can converse with her characters, and battle the monsters in the novel as clearly as she fights getting through her job at Tammy Bahammy retail store. That is until literally everything goes up in flames. A play featuring Dungeons & Dragons, shadow puppetry, pyrotechnics, and the things we sacrifice for our art.
It Begins & Ends In Flames First Look Reading Series at Sarah Lawrence College. Directed by Bryelle Burgus.
Except For Mimi
We all have a secret. One that keeps us up at night, one that we hide to protect those we love, and one that we will eventually reveal in an effort to save us from guilt. A young woman grapples with the history of her family given the takeover of 21st genealogy tracking sites. This play will punish the audience for their secrets, and punish the players for their exploitations. Except for Mimi demands to know what secrets are better left untold, what is baked in the wake of silent lies and chocolate cake.
If there’s the family you have and the family you choose, do you choose the family you never knew you had?
